September 26, 2009: "Fall Tip-off" 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

1st Annual "Fall Tip-Off" 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament sponsored by the Issaquah Parks and Recreation Department and Autoworks of Issaquah.  The Tournament will be held on September 26, 2009 at the Issaquah Community Center.  We will be offering divisions for both boys and girls.  The divisions offered are as follows:

 Boys                 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade

 Girls                 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade

This should be an awesome event as we head into another fun and exciting season of Issaquah Parks and Recreation Basketball!  Registration begins September 1, 2009. The registration deadline is Friday, September 18, 2009 at 4:00 PM!  Please remember to include all parent emergency contact information and signatures on the Entry Form!

September 26, 2009:  Seattle Walk to Defeat ALS - sponsored by The ALS Association Evergreen Chapter

  • Location: Seward Park, Lower Loop, 5898 Lake Washington Blvd S, Seattle, WA 98118

  • Date:  Saturday, September 26, 2009,  Time:  9:00am Registration, 10:00am Walk starts 

  • Duration: Walk ends at 11:30am

  • Description: The Seattle Walk to Defeat ALS, now in its 10th year will once again be held in the lower loop of Seward Park.  Nice flat paved trail (with occasional tree root damage) around Lake Washington with awesome views of water and mountains.  Circle around twice to complete the 5 mile route.  ADA accessible, children’s playground, dogs on a leash welcome.  This walk is to honor and support those who are living with or have lost their lives to Lou Gehrig’s disease. The Walk to Defeat ALS is The ALS Association's national signature event.  Each year, over 65,000 people including ALS patients, families, friends and corporate leaders join together to raise funds in support of The Association’s cutting-edge research and community-based patient services programs.

Sunday, Oct. 10 and 11: Third Annual Sammamish Art Fair coming to Sammamish City Hall

Local Eastside artists will have their work for sale inside Sammamish City Hall on the weekend of October 10 and 11 as part of the 2009 Sammamish Art Fair.  This annual Art Fair is sponsored by the City of Sammamish Arts Commission and will feature original paintings, jewelry, mixed media and encaustic art, various glass arts, ceramics, woodcarving, and textile art.  In addition, this year’s art submissions were juried to ensure the highest quality of fine art will be presented at the fair.  Visit our website at http://sammamishartfair.wordpress.com/

The Art Fair will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10 and 11.  Admission is free; light refreshments and music will be offered.  There is plenty of parking in the neighboring areas.    Sammamish City Hall is located at 801 228th Ave. SE, Sammamish, WA 98075.
